Why you should install Grant air source heat pumps?

There are several benefits of installing a Grant air source heat pump. Some of these benefits include:

Reduced energy bills

Grant air source heat pumps boast exceptional SCOPs and can produce up to five times the energy they consume at average climatic conditions. This means that for every 1 kW of electricity the pump consumes, it can generate up to 5 kW of heating energy. As such, you will be heating your home using less energy, which in turn translates to lower annual energy bills.

Earn money through the government’s RHI Scheme

All Grant air source heat pumps are MCS accredited, meaning they are eligible for the government’s RHI payment scheme. As such, for seven years, every unit of renewable energy you generate using your Grant air source heat pump could potentially earn you money.

Reduce your carbon footprint

Grant air source heat pumps extract heat from the surrounding air and use it to heat your home and domestic hot water. As the process doesn’t involve burning fossil fuels that generate high carbon emissions, it can be considered environmentally friendly. Some Grant air source heat pump models can even lower your home’s carbon emission by a massive 50%.

All year round heating

Grant Aerona3 air source heat pumps can operate even in the worst outdoor conditions. This means you can continue enjoying heating in the heart of winter even if outdoor temperatures are as low as -20°C.

Is the Grant Aerona3 heat pump good for me?

Before installing the Grant Aerona3 air source heat pump, you have to ask yourself whether it would be a good fit for your property. You have to pay careful heed to this question, as failure to answer it adequately may result in your not unlocking the full potential of your heat pump. This is particularly the case, considering the efficiency of the air source heat pump depends on several factors such as your home’s insulation levels and energy efficiency.

Some of the indicators that the Grant Aerona3 air source heat pump will work perfectly in your home include:

Your home is well insulated: Grant air source heat pumps deliver heating at lower temperatures compared to a traditional boiler, and without proper insulation, this heat can escape through the walls, roof, and floors of your property. Poor insulation leads to high rates of heat loss, resulting in lower heat pump efficiency. Before proceeding with the insulation, ensure your home’s walls are adequately insulated and that you have at least 270 mm of loft insulation.

There is enough room to install the outdoor unit: The Grant Aerona3 heat pump is a split system consisting of indoor and outdoor units. The outdoor unit should be installed with enough space around it to facilitate good airflow for optimum performance.

You don’t live in an icy region: Although Grant air source heat pumps are designed to function at minimum operating temperatures of -20°C, their output is significantly impacted by cold outdoor temperatures. If you live in a region where outdoor temperatures are fairly tolerable, then a Grant air source heat pump will be good for you.

You have low flow radiators or an underfloor heating system: It is advisable that you only install a Grant air source heat pump when you have one of these systems in your home. The reason is that the heat pump delivers heating at a low temperature and will require time to transfer the heat from the water to the surrounding air in the room.

What is the cost of installing a Grant air source heat pump?

Air source heat pumps are considered a huge investment, and installing one will likely cost you several thousands of pounds. Grant Aerona3 air source heat pumps are no exception to this rule. Installing a Grant Aerona3 air source heat pump system will cost you between £6,000 and £12,000. However, the exact installation cost varies depending on several factors, such as the model and size of the heat pump you are installing, the installer rates, and the complexity of the installation project.

Although this cost may seem steep at a glance, you need not worry about it too much as you can recoup part or the whole of it through the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme. You can also recoup part of this investment through the several years of energy savings you will make by heating your home using the heat pump.
