They have one of the most advanced boiler manufacturing plants in the world which guarantees a diverse product range and allows them to make the best use of new and existing technologies in their boilers.

Alpha has warmed its way into the hearts of thousands of homeowners by blending traditional business values with an innovative approach to their operations.

They have a proactive and responsive approach towards customer needs and that is how they have grown to be one of the leading boiler manufacturers in the UK and across Europe.

Typical Prices for Alpha Boilers

Alpha will not quote or sell directly to homeowners. If you get in touch with them, they will refer you to an engineer in your area who has installed one of their boilers in the last six months.

To make their boilers competitive, Alpha has boilers priced into the lower end of the market. Compared to other brands with the same capacity and output, you will find that most Alpha boilers will cost you less.

On average, an Alpha boiler will set you back in the range of £599 to £2,215. The size, type and output of the boiler have a significant impact on the price of the boiler.

The cost is exclusive of the cost of installation. Installation fees differ from one installer to the next. If you’re considering having an Alpha boiler installed, send us an enquiry and we can have three qualified and certified Gas Safe installers send you installation quotes for the new boiler.

Some of the installers even offer additional services like boiler financing which can be critical in helping you get your boiler sooner without leaving your finances in a mess.

Alpha Boiler Warranty

You should buy a boiler with a practical warranty. It may cost you more to buy a boiler with a longer warranty but, it’s hard to put a price tag on your peace of mind.

Standard Warranty

All Alpha standard warranties begin on the day the boiler is installed. The length of the warranty depends on the model of the boiler purchased. Typically, boilers from Alpha Heating come with warranties of 2 – 7 years.

System boilers have a 3 – 5 years warranty and 3 years for the regular boilers. If you add a Premium Pack to your purchase, you can extend the warranty of the boiler.

What’s Covered by the Warranty?

If your Alpha boiler runs into any faults, there are a variety of ways the manufacturer can make amends. They aim to repair any issues over the phone. They also have a handy guide on their website that can help you identify and resolve some of the common problems. Alternatively, they can send one of their service engineers to come and resolve the issue.

How to Extend the Warranty

The longer the warranty, the more comfortable you feel. With Alpha, you can enjoy that comfort and worry-free feeling by taking advantage of Alpha’s Boilercare. This will ensure your boiler is looked after by one of the Alpha’s specialist engineers even after the warranty has run out.

Boiler care is an annual service usually carried out during the summer. It keeps your boiler ready for winter. For further details on the Boilercare service, you can get in touch with Alpha below to find out if the plan is available for your type of boiler.

Alpha Regular Boiler Range

Most homeowners don’t warm up to the idea of a regular boiler until they assess the cost of stripping down the old central heating and setting up a new one.

Despite the reduced interest that regular boilers attract, they do offer plenty of benefits and they still have their position in the modern heating world.

Regular boilers require a hot water cylinder and a cold water storage tank. Even though this requires more space, some homes still find that a regular boiler is more practical. Also called conventional boilers, these types of boilers are perfect for large homes with a high demand for hot water.

A regular boiler will also save you the cost of changing the pipework if you already have old central heating in place.

Benefits of an Alpha Regular Boiler

  • Regular boilers come in different sizes. You can choose one that works best for your home.
  • Is ideal for older properties that have the traditional central heating system installed.

Alpha Boiler Problems and Common Fault Codes

As a boiler owner, it makes sense to have some information on some of the common problems your boiler might run into. Such information can help you identify problems and for those that have simple fixes, you can fix the boiler.

With Alpha boilers, there are a few codes you should know about. Before we go ahead, let’s just mention; if you’re not sure about anything, it’s best to call in an expert.

Red A-Indicator light is on (fault code 47)

Most Alpha boilers have red or yellow lights appearing on the display. The colour of the light flashing determines the kind of problem you’re facing.

If the red indicator light is on, a fault 47 code will be displayed on the boiler panel. If the indicator is a solid red, it’s a sign the burner failed to light.

Suggested fix

With Alpha boilers, all you need to do is reset the boiler. You can do this by rotating the switch on the front of the boiler to position 3. The boiler will restart after a 30 seconds delay.

If this doesn’t work, you need to call in an engineer to check for blockages in the system.

Red (A-indicator) Yellow(B-indicator)

This sequence represents the same issue, but the scenario is different. It shows the burner has failed to light, but the cause is entirely different so you need to proceed with caution.

Suggested fix

You should only reset the boiler when only the red light appears. If both the Red and Yellow indicators are on, a simple reset won’t do. The burner could be faulty or have a blockage. In this case, a Gas Safe registered engineer is better equipped to check and fix the boiler.

A-indicator flashing red

If the B light is not showing anything but the (A) is showing a red light, the overheat thermostat could be the issue

In this case, the boiler will also show a fault code 2 or fault code 25 and will lockout.

Suggested fix

The result of the problem could be obvious. But, the cause is quite different. You will need a boiler engineer to find out what the problem could be. It could be caused by a primary flow blockage, a pump fault, problematic flue sensor or an airlock in the heat exchanger.

No hot water

If there’s no hot water coming from the boiler, there’s more you need to be concerned about. For instance, you need to check if there’s power to the boiler and if the power lights are on. Check the operation of the fan and if the boiler is firing up and if it stays on or cuts out.

Depending on the diagnosis, the solution will differ.

Suggested fix

Usually, lack of hot water is attributed to a stuck diverter valve which can be freed. But, if the boiler is old and the diverter valve has never been replaced, consider having the part replaced.

Low boiler pressure

The E10 fault code is usually attributed to this problem. It indicates the boiler has lost pressure. If the pressure is too low, the boiler is unable to operate safely.

The problem results in a lockout and the problems can range from expansion vessels, pumps or a leak in the radiator.

Suggested fix

The fix depends on the cause of the loss of pressure. If it’s happening for the first time, topping up pressure might cure the fault code. If the pressure loss is consistent, you might need the help of an expert to diagnose and fix the problem.
